"An intimate cross-country look at the new debate over religion in the public schools...Wertheimer's fascinating investigation, which includes a return to her rural Ohio school, which once ran weekly Christian Bible classes, reveals a public education system struggling to find the right path forward and offers a promising roadmap for raising a new generation of religiously literate Americans."--Provided by publisher.

Living in a county that recently experienced a controversy in the teaching about Islam in a public school's world religions course, I was interested to read about similar situations in other parts of the country. This is a terrific book that confirmed for me the need for all Americans to be better educated about world religions and cultures.
