I realize I love any book that's set in a bakery has my heart. Jada & Donovan are so cute and I love they relationships. I adored the chemistry between these two.
i wanted to love this more than i did because i love the synopsis but i found the heroine absolutely insufferable. i enjoyed the tropes, especially this “masculine” pro football player who runs a bakery but he definitely had a lot of traits i didn't enjoy. they didn't have a ton of chemistry and for having such an interesting premise it wasn't super interesting. i still had a good time but it was unmemorable.
This was a fun romance set in a cupcake shop between a football player and a woman who was on the equivalent of The Bachelor. Fake dating leads to real feelings, as it tends to happen.
i really want to love this!!! the characters are flat and annoying and the romance is insta-lovey. it all happened so fast, despite the book saying that it all happened in a couple of months, which means there's a lot of telling instead of showing. the stakes aren't that high and the writing didn't help my case either. i'm so disappointed :(
