I just finished this, and what a great book. I was doing that thing where I read it slowly on purpose because I didn't want it to end. Echoes of (for me) Vonnegut and Jeannette Winterson, but its own voice for sure. It's going on the will-read-again shelf.
I really enjoyed the fact that this book went back and forth from spanish to english so i highly recommend for people who are bilingual. But the only thing that was frustrating was that i felt like it was trying to fit too much all at once. It's also good because the ending isn't a happily ever after kind of ending it more realistic which i appreciated. I really wish her and carmen ended up together but i'm glad francisca started to come to terms with who she is, I also like how the ending was her and andrea because i can kind of come up with an “what happened after” sort of ending.
