French Kissing: Season One

Claire and Juliette have been best friends for over twenty years. They are both workaholics who have given everything to their business and have just landed their first major political client. Juliette has been married for ten years, but for the last year her marriage has been falling apart and she does not know why. Claire has been taking the occasional lover, but is starting to feel that something is missing from her one-night stands. Then there is their PR agent in training Steph who is enjoying being single until she meets the married and heterosexual political new client.

Harper Bliss drops you right into the tea in French Kissing the first book in this series. Juliette is your typical type A personality who is obsessed with work and used to her life running exactly as it always has and likes it that way. When her wife, Nadia, rises through the ranks at her job at the hospital and takes more and more time away from home and her “wifely” duties this causes friction between the couple. Yet, Juliette knows there has to be more to it than that, but does she? Is it just missed dinners, too many work hours, and Juliette ignoring Nadia that is the problem? Claire puts in as many hours as Juliette and loves it as she has her occasional lovers that come in to town and call her when Nadia sets her up with a doctor from the hospital. When they first meet, it looks like they have nothing in common...ahhhh the way all good romances start. Margot is just as busy as Claire and she's the perfect “bad boy” stereotype for Claire. Until the ex who broke Margot's heart comes back into town and throws their new romance into a spin. Steph, on the other hand, ends up being the point person for the new political client who is not as heterosexual as originally thought. I told you: lots of tea. Bliss gives you everything: drama, laughter, good looking women, and sex. The sex is actually pretty good, I look forward to seeing more (laugh - that kind of sounds wrong but oh so right).


For those who did read Pre-Season or Episode One: (spoilers for those who have not read it)

The first third of Season One, covers the information from Episode One, but without the detail. We find out the repercussions of Nadia's secret and the aftermath of destruction it causes. The truth comes out about the fox in the henhouse as secrets get revealed. Margot's ex comes back into town, but does she want Margot back? Steph and Dominque continue their relationship to everyone's surprise and the firm's possible destruction. Bliss adds a lot more sex in this book and it is really good sex with some light BDSM play. This is a fun and quick read once you get past what you have already read and as I have said before, Bliss brings the “tea”.
