The Silver Tide is of fame and a drive to be known, to be remembered. This novella portrays that wonderfully.
It tells the tale of Chila the Great, of the beginnings of the uprising that made Sagus Cliffs the way it is at the start of the Torment: Tides of the Numenera. In a way, Chila is a very pure and simple character - she's driven by the simple motivation that she be remembered for as long as possible. And to achieve that, she simply wanted to do things that will make people remember her.
The story's done from a narrative point of view, which works, as it's part of the story. It's a quick read and it's at a good pace. Some things were not explained, but then that's the nature of the numenera and the Ninth World setting its set in.
Definitely one of the better ones of this series of novellas (not that I've read all of them yet).
