Gentleman's Agreement

I've really liked this book. I've learnt some new to me things about US not so recent history, and while reading, some childhood memories from formerly mightiest country in the world surfaced uninvited - there were no big traumas there, or were there really?
I think some scenes and some turns of phrase felt different to me than they will for most people.

The book of course idealized things, and sped up processes a bit movie like, but I liked it nevertheless
