Gilding the Lily

Lily and Sarah Brown's childhood is an unhappy one. Sarah escapes by marrying Ralph Turner, a man with a hidden cruel streak. Lily is drawn to Ralph's younger brother and just as she sees a future for them a terrible incident destroys her happiness. Accepting work with a family going to New York on the Titanic, Lily's life will change forever.
