I would like to thank Scout Press and NetGalley for sending me a copy of this book. I enjoyed reading it and I also grabbed a copy of the audiobook from Kobo so I could hear the pronunciation of the words from other languages as the linguist tried to find some semblance between the girl's tongue and some of the languages she herself knew. I enjoyed that part of the story, but Nora and “Seal man” were the only 2 likable characters. I have a difficult time reading a book where most of the characters are rude, self-absorbed, and prickly like the rest of them. The author was very creative and clever in how she decided to weave this story and I liked it so I gave it 3 stars.
