I'm devastated. THIS is what the previous books were leading to? It's like you lost your own voice and decided to rehash Maas's Throne of Glass.
For the record, I loved OREA. Not some fucking Fae kingdom we don't even see until book 5. And then you strand everyone there as if it's some nice little bow because they're together and the side chars will of course get used to it, right? Because all that matters is little miss golden Auren is in the fae realm where she glitters and shines and is worshipped and adored (oh ye gods, it's Aelin all over again! The names even are similar!). Also, of course SHE gets to be healed, and fully whole, and still use all her powers, but Slade? Nah, he gets downgraded. Gains a dragon only for it to be snatched away and be a wisp of its former self, and none of that raw magic comes back either, of course. You gave that to him so she could get to the fae realm, and then you took it away so they could never go back.
Also for the record, I didn't mind most of the POVs. My main issue is the ending, and all the cracks it exposed that I had overlooked before.
