This book was just okay for me. Both MCs had their flaws. I didn't really care for Blake until the charity banquet where it was revealed that he was involved with the animal shelter. I wish the authors would have included more of that aspect of Blake because he came off as shallow for pretty much the entire first half of the book. I did appreciate that Jess and Blake's relationship was for the most part free from petty drama you see in some romance novels. I will most likely continue with this series.
I love Blake Riley so much. He's funny and sweet and cocky lol. Jess is the perfect match for him, I love their interaction. The wedding planned by Jess at the beginning of the book was just perfection, and it was so awesome to be reunited with Wes and Jamie and seeing them loving their HEA.
More to follow.
Blake and Jess were such a cute couple and I love that Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen did more than simply fall back on common tropes to write their story, because they deserve so much more than that. I had not read the prior book where Jess was introduced, but I had no problem falling into this book and following their story, and the banter and humor I was able to follow that quite easily. I may have missed some in jokes but nothing central to the storyline itself..
This book was so much fun and a great getaway from my family during a stressful pre-Holiday day!
