After everything that happened with Coleman, Alex needed some time to recover. It's been about a month, and she's ready to go back to work. Not only does she need the money, but it will help keep her mind off Falin. She hasn't heard from him at all. Alex would like to ease back into work, but when a bunch of left feet turn up, she knows this case will be big. I love this series! Only two books into the series, and I already know it is one of my all time faves.
These books remind me a little of the Allie Beckstrom series by Devon Monk. Main character uses magic, at the risk of her own health quite often, both fathers are extremely wealthy, with poor relationships with the daughter. Not saying its a bad thing, I like the way the writing and story line flows, and the way that relationships are formed. This is a fun series, and if you like one, you should like the other. Back to this book, we left off pretty quickly after the end of the 1st book. This story was fast paced, and kept me engaged the whole time. I even like what is happening with Death and Falin! I am sort of rooting for both, I cant tell yet, maybe both forever.
