John Muir and the Friendship that Saved Yosemite

This is a fine book about one of America's most interesting individuals and unique figures. Although I was somewhat familiar with John Muir, I knew very few details of his life or his efforts to preserve Yosemite Valley, which I visited once many years ago. I was also intrigued by his relationship with Robert Underwood Johnson, another interesting figure in our history. Wonderfully researched and written, I recommend this book to anyone interested in the US environmental protection movement.
