This was a different view on vampires that I haven't read. I really like the main characters Bones and Cat. Their story is an interesting one. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
I almost want to dismiss this one as a Beginner's Guide to Rough Sex with an Older Gentleman.

Halfway to the Grave (Dramatized Edition) is a graphic audio published by the company Graphic Audio and written by Jeaniene Frost, based on the first book in her Night Huntress series, Halfway to the Grave. This was my first time listening to a production by the company Graphic Audio and I was not disappointed. Catherine Crawfield is a half-vampire and she's made it her mission to kill other vampires because one vampire in the past, destroyed her mother's life. Bones, a full fledged vampire agrees to help train Catherine and help her find her father as long as she agrees to help him take out some of his vampire enemies.
[SPOILERS BELOW]
The story itself was outdated at certain parts, but it was very exciting otherwise. There was a very outdated and poorly aged part where <spoiler>these two guys at the club try to drug Catherine to date rape her. Because she's a half-vampire, the drugs don't fully work on her so they end up triple dosing a human woman after it didn't work on Catherine. The human woman died, Bones found the perpetrators while they were assaulting the victims dead body. Further spoilers, Bones kills the perps for their crime.</spoiler> This entire scene made me uncomfortable. I see a trend with older (circa - mid 90's - late 2000's) paranormal or urban fantasy stories where the author includes copious amounts of sexual assaults'. Other than the issues with date rape and sexual assault, the graphic audio was enjoyable because the story's twist and turns were so interesting. This audio is action packed and it really has me excited to read the second installation.
The spicy scenes were good, I enjoyed them and I really liked the voice actor for Bones. He has a very attractive voice. I'm giving the spicy scenes three point five chilies 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 out of five chilies
Overall, disregarding the sexual assault issues I found this graphic audio to be really riveting. If the outdated parts in the story weren't there, I would definitely have to give this the max stars, but because of the triggering content, I'm giving this 4.25 out of 5 stars instead.

Este foi o primeiro livro com vampiros que eu alguma vez li. E foi divertido. Muito divertido. Tem alguns problemas, mas no geral é uma boa historia. Let's go to the next one!
No sabía si darle 2 o 3 estrellas.
Le dejo 3 porque me dejo interesada para continuar con el segundo libro y por si mejora en las siguientes entregas.
This is a solid 3.5.
The beginning is fun, Cat is a solid heroine, Bones is amusing, and the audiobook is well recorded, my problem with this was that I wanted Urban Fantasy and this is Paranormal Romance.
There were many love declarations and sex when I wanted worldbuilding and more vampire stuff.
It wasn't for me, but it may be great for you if that's what you're looking for.
Seri paranormal romance ketiga yg kubaca, dan ternyata aku suka. Segalanya menurut takaranku sih gk berlebihan.
I liked this. It was an easy read but I usually prefer more plot line in my books...Bones is what made this a 3 star rating. Cat was kind of annoying as a protagonist: she's 22 but seemed extremely immature. It took over two thirds of the book for her to get over all of her vampire hating monologues and see how hypocritical she was being. And her mother seems like an awful caricature of a character...Cat tried too hard to be a snarky lead like Kat Daniels, and it didn't work as well for her. I have heard promising things about this series so I'll read the next book and see if it gets better.
I hate the main character. With a passion. But I still started the second one because I still want to know what happens.
Dammit.
This was more fun than I was expecting. It was also suuuuper cheesy. I get why people were throwing around a Buffy feel with it, but since I was never a huge Buffy fan, I am happy to say that I only got a slight Buffy feel, and I to me that is a good thing. Probably because it had college and vampire killing in common, and a vampire boyfriend, but thats where the similarities in book 1 stop. I am pretty sure.
Anywho! This book begins with Cat, being an amateur vampire hunter, and she meets Bones trying to kill him. However, since he is more skilled, and a lot older than most of the vamps she has been killing, she fails. They strike up a bargain to work together to take down vamps, Cat gets some much needed training, and an apparent much needed makeover. This is where the cheese factor comes in, Cat and Bones fall in love. Yay! Bones is just a cheesy dude.
Then things go to hell, and well, Cat has to choose between being with her Mom, or Bones, and she chooses to “save” everyone. Personally I think it was just an easy way out, because she is punishing herself for something that is not her fault. Her Mom is doing the same thing. Annoying.
