Hawthorne & Heathcliff

Hawthorne & Heathcliff is a beautifully written story about love and loss and finding yourself. It may sound like a story that's been written over and over again but I felt it was unique to anything I had ever read before. The story begins when H&H are seniors in high school and spans 8 years. I loved how the characters grew together and apart from each other over the course of those 8 years. The ending was perfect, the last 25% after the time jumps my favorite part of the book.

My only complaint is that while the writing was beautiful and poetic, there were times that I felt the author was trying too hard to have the characters say something profound that it just came across cheesy.

I would definitely recommend this book.
