There has been so much said about this series that you can't help but like it. Still, maybe I would have liked this more if I had read it a while ago. For me it seemed a little slow and at points confusing. Constantine did not establish himself as indelibly as I would have liked but I still give this series a 3. I preferred Preacher much more.
Well, I've reread Sandman multiple times, so it's about bloody time I read John Constantine in his own work, right?
It's all right. It categorized under the type of graphic novel that isn't my favorite, but I still enjoyed this. I enjoyed the societal statement on the 80s very much, being only a wee tyke at the time. I enjoyed the magic. I enjoyed some of the characters and the horror element, of course. I didn't really enjoy the art, and the writing got a bit–dare I say purple?–sometimes. Jamie has a way with metaphors, but it got a bit much. Most of it is voice over, too much of it.
That being said, I shall look forward to reading more of it.
