Her Vicious Beasts: The Beginning

this sets out with a great premise but then fumbles so bad in the following books that i could only read it as a bad dark romcom

also why isn't this the first book in the series but a prequel? would have probably dropped book one without this (and maybe that would've been less disappointing)
