It's critical we examine the kind of standards we hold fictional girls to and consider how it reflects in the way we treat real girls and, most important, what kind of emotional impact that has on them. What are we saying to girls when we cannot accept difficult, hurting female characters as being worthy of love because they are difficult and hurting? Are we telling them they have to hide their pain and act likable to be loved?
— Amazing, empowering, and more!!! I LOVE IT.
This is an amazing book, full of diverse stories and interpretations of feminism. The writers come from a lot of different background, have reached feminism in a different way, and apply that concept to their lives in their own way.
