Hope Never Dies

So silly, but so much fun. 4 stars for being better than I expected. :-)

The premise is funny, the story kind of slogs along, but the finale saved it from getting a lower rating.

For a book sold mainly on everyone's effection for Joe & Barack's adorbs friendship, why would you make the baffling choice to have them be mad at each other for nearly the entire book!? MASCULINITY IS A PRISON

This would be 1 star from me but the cover grants it 1 bonus star. TRAGICALLY the content does not match the delightful whimsy implied by the cover.

I have to start by saying that I adore Joe Biden and Barack Obama. And to have a book that is a buddy adventure mystery novel is probably the greatest thing to happen since the two left office. Seriously, if you love B-rack and Joey-B, this is definitely the book for you.

I loved seeing an “inside look” at how Joe looks up to Barack and misses him once they left office and went their respective ways. The book is a fun adventure with jokes and witticisms that left me chuckling. I think the Shaffer did a great job of providing us with a fun adventure, and honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing more of these adventures.

I liked it. I started reading it because of the cover. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great and I laughed at some parts. Was an ok, if cliche, mystery book.
