Sometimes a struggle to get through, but always pulls you back.
I really enjoyed this. This is a book heavy on themes and light on plot, but the imagery is amazing and it's an interesting book.
This was purposefully disjointed and creepy. The narrator is having hallucinations and is possibly in the middle of a nervous breakdown or a psychotic break.
coldwave lit: bleak and delirious. formally fragmented, stilted and alien. inhuman rhythms. a distinctly modernist, warped pastiche of something much older. gothic at its core, preoccupied with desire, obsession, destiny, violence, agency, and victimhood. interesting and definitely warrants a re-read
