According to the Japanese, everyone has an ikigai, a reason for existing. Some have found it and are aware of their ikigai, others have it inside, but are still looking for it. This is one of the secrets to a long, young and happy life like the one led by the inhabitants of Okinawa, the longest-living island in the world. The project for this book arose by uniting the experience in Japanese culture of Héctor García (author of A Geek in Japan), who has lived in Japan for twelve years, with the writing art of Francesc Miralles (author of dozens of books and novels and a specialist in psychology). To write the work, the two authors were received by the mayor of Ogimi (Okinawa), a town in northern Japan with the highest longevity rate in the world, and had access to interview more than a hundred of its inhabitants. In this new edition of this already classic of personal growth, the authors give us a prologue in which they reflect on all the experiences they have had since the publication of the first edition of Ikigai in 2016. Having a clear and defined ikigai, a great passion, is something that gives satisfaction, happiness and meaning to life. The mission of this book is to help you find it, as well as to discover many keys of the Japanese philosophy for a long health of the body, mind and spirit.
