This was a boring read which is disappointing because the world is quite interesting, but it's not fleshed out enough and some parts are a bit confusing because of this. Some of the magical elements are unique and that was mostly what kept me reading. I thought about DNF-ing the book many times, but since it was so short I decided to read to the end and I feel like I still haven't gained anything from it. I felt no connections to the characters or their problems and didn't care for the ending.
All in all, I would say maybe read it for the magic system but don't expect much more.
