Improper Lessons

I liked the idea for this story and thought it had a lot of potential to be sexy.

But when the requisite split-up happened, the ‘heroine' turned into such an insipid little mess, I quickly just wanted to finish the story and be done with her. (The hero of the tale is surprisingly likeable, though.)

Despite the kindness shown to me, and despite the quite absurdly congenial surroundings in which I found myself, I hadn't the will to be happy. I hadn't the will to be properly sad either. I simply was.

And the less said about the extremely contrived happy ending, the better.
