In the midnight rain

Barbara O'Neal is my favourite author, and her older books, writing as Ruth Wind, are just as lush and evocative and wonderful as her recent tales.

Blue and Ellie are beautifully flawed characters. I couldn't get enough of their romance.

And the secondary characters + mystery at the heart of the plot make for a thoroughly enjoyable read.
