The Island of Doctor Moreau is the story of a naturalist, Prendick, who is shipwrecked on the island retreat of the infamous vivisectionist, Dr. Moreau. In his laboratory known as "The House of Pain," Moreau creates "humanized" animals that he controls through fear until the horrifying day when one of his creatures destroys him and Pendrick is left alone with the survivors.
