First of all, I love the title of this book but what really got my attention was the blurb. I mean who doesn't love a forbidden romance (almost second chance romance too)?
Adele hasn't been home for seven long years, after a very uncomfortable shirt off show down embarrassment she never came back, but now she's finally driving home for her dad's wedding and she'll be staying at Pete's house. Pete... her first crush, her first love, her father's former employee, current business partner, the main reason she had to leave.
Pete is 15 years older than Adele but he's still holding a grudge after the way Adele had to leave. 7 years later, his business partner is getting married and suddenly he has to play host to Adele since she's staying in his guest room, they haven't spoken since she left and to say that things are awkward is an understatement.
Honestly, I was hooked pretty fast and I read It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time in one sitting, Kylie Scott is an amazing story teller and her stories are so well written, everything just flows amazingly. I love Adele, her personality and her dialogues/monologues are absolutely hilarious, she's a very strong heroine, she's funny, holds her own and she's so open with Pete, it's almost disarming and refreshing at the same time. She's definitely the star of this romance! I also loved their chemistry and the fact that Adele had a backbone, she drove Pete crazy and I loved it! The secondary characters were also great, especially her dad's fiancée but I did struggle a little with Pete. I get that he was broken, that he had issues, I even understand his background, yet he didn't won me over, not completely. Sometimes, he just didn't act very mature. Still, I really enjoyed this story. Definitely, not my favorite hero but Adele... Adele is gold! A fun, sexy, beautifully written forbidden romance, with plenty of chemistry, funny moments and fabulous banter.
