Maria is a Brazilian girl whose early amorous forays suggest that love is a psychological construct .Ending up in Geneva as a dancer, and moving into prostitution, Maria's thoughts on sex are presented via her diary entries. She befriends a female librarian whose views on sex are surprisingly tedious. When Maria meets Ralf, she needs must re-examine her earlier assumptions about love.
