The performances in Junk Mail were absolutely spot on. Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood's voices are well suited. It was stellar casting. They were Josh and Peyton. Joe Arden was made to do ROM COM. His timing and reactions are just perfect. Savannah Peachwood is wonderful, as ever, I really enjoy their dynamic together.
Josh and Peyton were such a cute couple. How they got together was funny as anything and their connection instant. I loved how they tried to stay professional but just couldn't resist one another. The story was cute and I loved it. Until I didn't. It got to the part of the inevitable “break up” and I had to do a double take at my phone. What did I just hear? Surely, I misheard? I get that it's fiction and the “break up” was necessary to the story, but it just didn't work for me, it felt like forced conflict for the sake of it, rather than something that made sense. And the reasonings, Sheesh. I wanted to reach into my phone and slap a dude. I always hate being negative, but I'm also always going to be honest, regardless. The conflict aspect didn't work for me. The half...maybe more of the story up until that part was fantastic and the ‘getting back together' was wonderful too. It was just that little bit. Grams was hilarious and I was so pleased with how the story ended for her too. She was sassy and I just loved that. It's a great romcom that will have listeners spitting out their drinks whilst listening. The puns and double entendres were hilarious. It's Kendall, so you know the sexy times were as great as ever. Overall it's a lovely, quick listen. It'll appeal to lots of listeners. If you're a Joe Arden fan, you definitely need this audiobook.
The production was brilliant, as always. What I will say is that I felt after Junk Mail ended there should have been something...maybe ‘This story is over, but why not try...' to lead into the preview of The Hookup Handbook, rather than a beat after the last word the title for the preview. It just felt squashed in there and could be confusing for other listeners. Though, if you haven't listened to The Hookup Handbook, make sure you stay tuned for the preview, Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon narrate and it's all the things.

I'm not a usually a reader of romance. But this was such a sweet rom-com. It captured me from the beginning because it was so funny. I think I'll have to add this author to my list of (I just learned this term) auto-buy
