I was browsing Libby and found this title. I read it was going to be a Netflix movie (it's out now) executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. I read the synopsis and I was sold. Borrowed and listened! I was in the mood for a thriller, a mystery.
The author is really wordy, using so many descriptive word for everyday activities. It was a good story, but it really didn't explain what happened, how it started.
The movie was better about showing things that were only described in the book, to the characters, instead of just saying it in exposition. It stayed pretty true to the book. Ended the same. Love or hate the ending, I'm glad it stayed with the book.
I'm also glad the movie explained what may have happened, like with the three steps George's defense friend laid out.
This is one of those rare books where I'd say skip it and watch the movie instead.
