David is adrift in life and has decided he no longer wants to be apart of it anymore. He has chosen to board the Oceanis as a sort of last hoorah before he fades into oblivion.
While wandering the boat, exploring places he shouldn't go, David finds the infirmary. He accidentally sees his Andrew (his steward) who appears to have a weird growth on his stomach. The next day Andrew isn't seen and all of a sudden no one knows who he is.
David is determined to find out what is going on and starts asking questions and poking his nose where it shouldn't be poked. Soon enough he finds there are worse things happening than Andrew going missing...
OK! What a perfectly creepy, spooky and fun way to kick off October! I actually read this in one day because it was such an easy read to get lost in. I love when the writing flows well and the characters are so likeable. David and Diana have such a fun chemistry, corny jokes included, and I just ate it up.
I also loved the mystery of the “illness” and had an idea where it was going, but really enjoyed it nonetheless. Definitely recommend for a quick and fun nautical paramystery thriller.
