Poirot had been present when Jane bragged of her plan to 'get rid of' her estranged husband. Now the monstrous man was dead, but how could Jane have stabbed Lord Edgware to death in his library at exactly the same time she was seen dining with friends? And what could be her motive now that the aristocrat had vinally granted her a divorce?

It was pretty funny but I hated Poirot's mood. He's so vain!
Classic Agatha Christie. Masterful woven mystery...Hercule is almost fooled!
“I loved it,” a girl was sighing. “I think Bryan Martin's just wonderful. I never miss any picture he's in. The way he rode down the cliff and got there in time with the papers.”
Her escort was less enthusiastic.
“Idiotic story. If they'd just had the sense to ask Ellis right away. Which anyone worth sense would have done—”
