LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! Alex is exactly my kind of hero. He's a hacker with honor. He's damaged but strong and a full-on sexy dreamboat. Then there's Sandra. She has always been one of the funniest characters in this whole series and I so enjoyed getting to know her better. I loved the romantic intrigue of exploring the city with Alex while avoiding bugged apartments and annoying NSA agents. This is now one of my favorite Penny Reid romances!
What I loved about this book were - as with the other Penny Reid books I have read so far - the characters, but most of all Sandra. I guess I can just get in line with every other Sandra fanboy and -girl, then... :)
I also enjoyed the story: the gritty bits as well as the hopeful bits, the silly bits, the twisty bits, the steamy bits and the happy bits.
In a can't-look-away-even-if-it-makes-me-flinch kind of way, I even sort of enjoyed the honest butchering of the German language (the Rüssel thing had me laughing out loud).
All in all, a fun and enjoyable read. :)
Just one thing: Wookiee. Two Es. (If the Star Wars fandom is used repeatedly throughout the story, why does this, of all things, have to be misspelled?)
The knitting group is so fun and quirky.
I wish we had more relationship development but this was still enjoyable.
Alex was so weird and do we even know why he always insisted on giving Sandra's coat away? Or taking off all her layers when they had to walk somewhere???
