It was a really fun little story, and the last chapter had plenty of feel-goods, but several things bothered me.
-Characters lying to each other
-Her friend Sam seeming to think it was okay to leave her husband doing all the housework and all the cooking and cleaning all the time and running around town having fun....um, no! Household work should be shared. Poor guy. He might be a “perfect husband,” but Sam is far from a perfect wife.
-Several uses of “holy _” (several different words) as an ejaculation. It isn't right to make light of “holy” like that.
-Head-jumping. I got used to Holly and Josh, and all of a sudden we have two paragraphs from Ben's POV? Very jarring.
-Holly's resentment toward older adults, gently brushed in...her parents who forget her accomplishments; her neighbor who takes advantage; Josh's mom; the wedding planner; etc. Literally, none of Holly's friends are good role models or pleasant side characters.
Anyway, I did like Holly and Josh. I loved that she's an author. I liked that there was a specific Christian mention even in this small story. But there were too many dislikes for me to rate it really high.
