Another collection of breezy stories from Ahmed as Ms Marvel faces a number of new one-off threats to Jersey. There's a theme here of her struggling with feelings of inadequacy as well as the usual teen concerns such as missing the school dance. The story is missing some of the humour from earlier runs, but there's good use of the supporting cast and the introduction of a mystically-powered Arab American superhero as a new ally. The latter isn't particularly well-developed yet, but does have some potential for the future. The main plot arc concerns the US government passing a law banning teenager superheroes (hard to enforce, one would have thought, but I don't suppose that's stopped them elsewhere in the Marvel universe) and doesn't really work all that well. But the story has heart, and it's an enjoyable read.
