Apparently, my initial review never posted (blame it on my now ancient laptop it's not easy being a 3 year old piece of tech these days), so here I am, again, to tell you how much I loved this book.
Seriously, this could have been written just to please the exact type of reader I am, and it wouldn't have been more spot on, see this collection exists at the precise intersection of my 2 favorite genres, non-fiction and short form horror.
The collection starts with an emotionally devastating story and just keeps throwing things at you that are sure to make you feel something.
Every story felt polished and stood well on its own. Even though Manx used his life and his feelings as inspiration/source material there's still a good variety of themes and tones so it never got boring or flat.
Disclosure: I received a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
