After visiting a great ape sanctuary, Marty and her friends set out to raise the money to "adopt" a chimpanzee by organizing a talent show at school and starting a pet-sitting business in Marty's basement--which soon gets out of hand.

Marty wants to raise money to help lab chimpanzees, and she and her friends come up with an idea to create a pet sitting business. They end up with a few too many pets, some of which aren't content to remain in their cages. Funny and delightful comedy of errors.
