Max loves to draw. Give him a blank sketchbook, pencils and charcoal and he can draw the most amazing, fantastical pictures. However, Max's father has other ideas on where his talent should go and drawing magic, fairies and the like is not it...
Every year Max and his family travel to the Bear Tooth Point Resort. It is here that Max has been forbidden, by his father, to draw anything fantasy. If his father so much as sees a fairy wing, Max's dream of attending a prestigious art school goes down the drain.
One night, while Max is sketching, all his feelings of rage, of being unloved and misunderstood...of hating his father come to the surface. He pours his heart into the drawing...a fantasy drawing...one which has something peeking at him from within the forest on the page ...
Soon after, weird things begin happening around the resort which eventually erupts into pure chaos and terror. Max is confused and is wondering what in the world is going on...and why does he feel like this is his fault?
OK wow! I have to say this was great! Fast-Paced, full of emotion, supernatural moments, action and adventure. The pacing was very well done as the story progresses and we get to “watch” Max come into his own. He is a great MC..very relatable and likeable.
I have to say, the author does an impeccable job of making you love the right characters while simultaneously despising the ONE true jerk-in-the-box. I seriously wanted to fist bump a certain someone's head more than a few times.
