this was I GUESS a fun spacey romp, but most of the fun was more in the premise than in the execution. i wanted it to go deeper and it stayed really surface level and leaned heavily on the “humor” (where?) and quirkiness (where???) of mickey as a main character, which totally did not land for me. i would have liked to have seen so much more character exploration or even just exploration of the concept laid out here of the “ship of theseus” cloning thing. also thinking back on the book now i'm having a hard time thinking of anything i specifically liked about it. i guess this just fell really flat for me which is disappointing.
