The banter is getting old and the books are getting very formularic. The chatty female protagonist and the gruff but honorable male protagonist. The MC is a rational programmer, doesn't believe in magic and the supernatural, but doesn't bat an eye when she ends up i a town full of wherewolves and witch coves. Because those pecs.... There are other books I like to delve in to.
I went in to this book without any real expectations, and was pleasantly surprised.
Fun characters, a good sense of geeky humour, and no endlessly stretched out scenes just for the sake of it.
Looking forward to reading the other 4 in the series.
DNF. I read 42% of the book before stopping as I lost interest. The story was promising, but I was annoyed at the constant references to her veganism and diet. Yes, I get it, the werewolf likes meat and you can't eat it anymore due to health reasons. The character spends more time musing over her diet rather than trying to figure out who may have killed her grandmother. I lost patience.
I did like that the protagonist was an older woman, rather than a teenager, and I did like how it was written. I just lost interest. Maybe I'll try to finish it another time and give it another shot.
