Just polished off “Mistletoe & Mishigas” by the fab @mawardellauthor! It's a knockout 5-star read with a 4-chili pepper spicy kick. Catch it on Kindle from the 10th, or snag the paperback today!
Me and my pal Natalia from @inside2brains thought we'd pace ourselves, but we ended up gobbling it down in a week.
This book is an emotional whirlwind - fiery, gentle, tender, and feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket.
Theo and Sheldon are such lovable dudes. Theo's grumpy side really hit home for me (even though most folks reckon I'm always chipper).
The author nailed the hurt/comfort theme. Sheldon deserved all the love after what his folks put him through. His sunny outlook was his armor against his dark past. Seeing him fit right into Theo's family was pure joy.
The romance is top-drawer, and body positivity shines out beautifully here. Theo's body hang-ups felt really close to home for me, and watching both characters grow was amazing.
This series is fast becoming one of my must-reads! Can't shout about it enough!
Heads up: this book tackles PTSD, panic attacks, the death of a loved one (in the past), homophobia, and parental rejection.
Shoutout to M.A. Wardell for hooking me up with the ARC!
I enjoyed the diversity and size difference between Sheldon and Theo. Their religion, personalities, looks, etc. complete opposites.
Very insta love, but the pacing felt off. It also seemed like the author doesn't understand where body parts go during some of the sex scenes (all for taking creative liberty but)
