4 ⭐️'s with out a doubt in my mind!
I started this book as a joke, well jokes on me I enjoyed it throughly! The main character, so relatable. The man, so sweet and charming. The humor, spot on. The spice, oof (positively). I love the side characters, the town, everything! AGH! This is what I needed. A light fun little story albeit weird to warm my cold dead heart.
Listen girls, if you found yourself slightly (or a lot, how can I judge?) intrigued by that Dirty Jobs episode where Mike Rowe explores what it takes to get prize winning Stallions cum for impregnation of mares and he had to manually jack them off, this book is for y'all!
I read this as part of a readalong.
While this type of book isn't for me, (the beast romance weirds me out, but if you like it, that's absolutely fine) its a well written book.
there is no plot, but a story like this isn't designed for a plot. I devoured this in one sitting, and it was pretty clean.
the characters could have been more fleshed out, but they weren't cardboard cutouts that can appear in some books.
the dialogue was stilted in places, too forced but it was few and far between.
the world is interesting. based in a modern day, with mythical creatures and human coexisting, was a lovely concept and I wanted more worldbuilding on that.
now, the Spice was pretty mediocre, nothing too drastic but go into reading this without the technical concepts that lives in this world, and just accept things can happen that wouldn't really be possible.
it wasn't as bad as i expected.
Mind your business!
I feel awful that I was mostly interested in this as a sort of, oh this looks like a haha funny book there is no way that someone would write this. Which was very mean of me to do that! And I don't know if I'll ever get over my shame for that, and I very much regret thinking that way.
Morning Glory Milking Farm was so much more. Yes, there is smut. But there is just the whole town and the people that Violet meets and befriends that makes the whole town feel alive. I love that her job, with the exception of the gruff with a heart of gold and a love for desserts, was clinical and treated with respect that it was her job!
Their chemistry was so nice to see and based off of the mutual respect that they had for eachother, outside of the physical aspects of their relationship too.
I am so glad that this was my introduction to Monster romance, and I look forward to reading all of the authors work!
This was incredibly sweet. The beauty of these books and the author's gift is that the characters are written as people. You don't even remember that he is a Minotaur until it is brought up. The rest of the time everyone in the book just act like normal folks. You even forget the specifics of her job until you are reminded specifics about it.
This is a very slow burn but so very sweet. I loved it.
I had the audiobook version of this from Hoopla and that is genuinely the only reason why I didn't DNF.
The dirty talk was beyond cringe and there was barely a plot. When there was plot, it didn't lead anywhere remotely interesting. Then, the ending was abrupt and left so much to be desired.
If you want to read it for the memes like I did, its a quick read but don't expect anything remotely great.
