Predictable and poorly written. I would not read another book from this author.
This was my first James Patterson novel. The audiobook showed up on my audiobook app and I thought “why not? This sounds interesting enough”
So how was it? Not bad. It was very fast paced with tons of twists and turns. Definitely fits that “guilty pleasure” line. Not exactly a “classic” or “groundbreaking” but a solid read for an afternoon when you want to play detective.
I did find out the killer semi early. That made a bit of the story drag. Still, it was entertaining. I may pick up another James Patterson novel in the future.
Honestly 4.5 stars rounded up just because this was so entertaining and had the perfect amount of plot twists.
I could NOT stop reading this. There are a LOT of POV switches especially in the beginning which i found hard to follow, the book was a bit darker than I expected (which wasn't necessarily a a bad thing), but Jenna's constant back and forth on her conclusions annoyed me a lot by the end.
Still very good and very entertaining read.
I fell for every single red herring, but by the end I figured out what was going on just before Jenna did. I liked the amount of the detective's life we get and the amount of investigating as well. At the end, there is even discussions between people that suspected each other. That was a great touch at the end.
