I fell for every single red herring, but by the end I figured out what was going on just before Jenna did. I liked the amount of the detective's life we get and the amount of investigating as well. At the end, there is even discussions between people that suspected each other. That was a great touch at the end.
I liked hearing about the history of this part of the world. I liked feeling like I was in a small town in Romania. I like the history of the vampires we see. The history of Joseph and his brother was interesting. The characters themselves were okay. The romance was fine and the crimes part of this was okay. So the atmosphere and history were great, but the characters and plot was okay.
A lovely and satisfying wrap up to the series and a connection to the Parasol Protectorate. At some point it seemed a little crazy that she was that successful against that many adults and there were a few other points that stretched my belief. It just brought me out of the world of the book. Not so much that I would rate it down, but it wasn't perfect. But maybe perfection is a lot to ask for. Overall, good ending to a great series by a fabulous author!
This is an amazing book about introversion. She talks about the biological factors. She talks about the effect on the business environment. She talks about children who are introverted. I don't think she missed a group in the discussion of introversion. And yet she still presents a balanced view. She does not make introversion out to be the end all be all of personalities. In fact, most times she presents both personality types together to make a rather unstoppable team. After reading this book, I feel more confident in my introverted instincts and I also understand better where to push myself and not use my introversion as an excuse. Amazing book!
