I wanted more of the tea house, but the focus was more on the characters. We see quite a bit about how they all get to where they are. There are some surprises about who they are and how they got to where they are. Now that I know all that about them, I want to read the next one to see what is going to happen next.

The body horror is exquisite. The three female characters are unique and I loved seeing them work together. The ending felt a little cliche, but the strength of the characters and their relationships to each other overcame a lot of my reticence about the ending.

I love this series, but this one isn’t my favorite. I’m not sure I really needed this story. If you really live The Moors, you will love this one. If you like visiting different worlds, this one might not be your favorite, but read it anyway.

This was the cutest YA romance! It was so cool to see a teen boy being nervous and trying to find his voice. Being a teen is hard for everyone. Finding the right person is hard for everyone. Getting the courage to talk to your crush is hard. I am glad that this book shows that all of those things are hard and scary for boys too.

A spooky dark forest with a questionable house and locals that don’t like the people staying at the house is exactly what this book needed. The fact that the narrator is Alex and they are in their home country again just makes it all better! And that is only the first little bit of the book! The people Alex has around them and the investigation really made me enjoy this book and experience. I can’t believe I almost didn’t read this duology.

This world is complicated and I don’t think I trust anyone, which was the kind of fantasy I was looking for. I love reading a book whose inspiration is a culture that I don’t know about. I know I just finished it, but I think I need to read it again because I know there were details I missed. Read this one and then maybe read it again because there is a lot to get a hold of.

I don’t know where to start with this review. There was so much going on about ‘who is the monster?’ and ‘what will you do for family?’ It really made me question a lot. I am going to have to read this again sometime.
