Murder on the MEOWntain

All I have to say is I am very glad the most annoying character, Amber, didn't show up in till the last chapter so I didn't need to deal with said character too long. Seriously, why was this character written to be so annoying? Who, when meeting someone for the first time, says “Oh, I don't have a problem with you, honey. I just wasn't expecting someone so... very ordinary looking.” Like, wtf b**?
I was considering reading more of this series, but the minute this annoying character showed up and basically states that yeah, she's going to be in the next book, I decided to not continue with this series.
