Still catching up on reviews...seems my favorites are the ones falling behind, since I tend to want to say more about them, I guess.
I enjoyed every minute of this delightful story between Kate and Matt. I love the description of her–how she's cute but not Barbie-perfect. And how she's kept her heart all these years for just the right man until it falls right in the lap of the man who's restoring her grandmother's home–a man whose heart was broken years ago, and is afraid to love again.
The poker nights with the retirees were hilarious; each character was drawn in a memorable way. The descriptions were excellent, and the story built to a satisfying close, after a bit of humor and a generous spice of drama.
I've already reread it twice! Any book that gets reread that quickly automatically gets five stars...
2018 reread: I still love this book! These characters practically leap off the page.
Content: some uses of words crap, heck, and gosh (last one bothers me most)
