This was your average mystery thriller. I enjoyed it though it did take a long time for the plot to develop and I didn't care for the ending. If you enjoy mysteries and have some time to kill, give it a shot. Otherwise, you may want to bypass this one.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital advanced reader copy.
It was decent. I didn't like how they forgave Andrew at the end. Kind of ruined it for me.
I took me awhile to get through this because, about the middle, I just no longer cared anymore. This is where audiobooks sometimes fail me. The actress playing the daughter had a voice that just grated on my nerves and because of that, I started to dread Sophie chapters. I was also bored of the emo teen side story with creepy romance. The phrase, “smile did not reach their eyes” was used so many times I started to make a game of it and awarded myself points every time a character used it to describe another character.
I don't seem to have a lot of luck with thrillers. A couple of the ones I have tried just come off as romance novels with bad guys (or girls) thrown into the mix.
