Ali's father asks her to come home to run Lennox Breweries. He just forgot to tell her that there might be a few obstacles in her way.
Alexandra “Ali” Lennox has been away from home for over 10 years. Her father calls her and asks her to come home and run the company. She has no experience. The board has not accepted her. Her brother wants to run the company. Plus her father has a COO who is fully competent and has been working as his right hand for 15 years.
Ali is a little confused. Never mind that she still wants to relax and party a little. She also takes one look at the polished COO Jill Gold and wants to muss her up a bit. It does not matter that she is almost 20 years older than her or now her boss. Ali always gets what she wants.
This time she might be biting off more than she expected.
Next In Love For Love (Ladylit Publishing, 9789887912477, 2019) is a very steamy May/December romance from Harper Bliss. My favorite kind of romance is the steamy kind.
Bliss utilizes the multi-pov chapter to allow us to understand Ali and Jill's feelings about the company and each other. There is obviously a lot more going on to Ali coming home than just to take over a company. Bliss takes us on the journey of Ali's impact on Jill and the company's impact on Ali.
I have to admit that at first I was not sure that Ali and Jill were going to be a fit due to where Ali was when Next first began. Ali had already begun to change and the story's circumstances do the rest, but she still retains a part of who she originally began as (did that make sense? lol).
Jill also had a major growth spurt in loving again which is why this May/December romance works. As everyone knows by now I am not a fan of May/December romances, because my brain gets in the way of them. Bliss keeps it in today and that is why I like it. Next In Line For Love is about seizing the moment today and loving the shit out of it and seriously who does not want that? ✶✶✶✶
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
