I just couldn't finish this book. The premise is awesome - our genes are now financial commodity. What lengths would corporations go to ensure they make a nice profit out of your DNA? Unfortunately, this is a poorly constructed novel. Its primary sin is that it lacked focus. There were far too many characters and subplots, therefore you're not exactly sure WHO to root for. In the end, trying to keep up with the many characters and plots proved too tiring for me and I gave up on finishing the book.
I shoulda heeded the cover copy. “As good as anything since Jurassic Park” or something similar.
True enough. It was a fast read, quite interesting, for sure, but not exciting in the slightest. Buy it used if you have to read it. DEFINITELY don't pay airport book store prices.
