I cannot, in all honesty, rate this lower than perfect. A simply perfect book.

A funky story narrated by a fetus with elements inspired by Hamlet. Didn't love it, but it kept my attention.

A brilliant point of view and plot (I wish I'd of thought of it!). This is McEwan at his best, he may not be everyone's cup of tea but I think he is both original and entertaining. Some may not fully appreciate his sarcastic commentary on our culture but it resonates with this reader.

Book Club 2017

The story line is simple but it did not seem to be the main event of the book. To me, the real story here is the narrator's commentary about birth/death, love/sex, etc. I did not find it to be suspenseful but it is entertaining and very clever.

Wow. What a unique book from the great Ian McEwan. Just go ahead and read the synopsis. Yes, it is as intriguing as it sounds. A lesser writer could never pull this off. Rather brilliant. Recommend.
