It's quite a light reading, not that I was expecting anything deep or epic. But still, I was kind of expecting a little more.
I'm also not quite sure what sort of readers this book was targeting. On one hand, it's laid out like a standard RPG adventure, the kind you'd actually play through in an actual D&D session. On the other hand, it tries to be a little more by injecting some humor (not very successful, to me anyway) of wizard vs. sorcerer, and a slightly awkward romance.
It reminded me of Harry Potter kind of stories, where the plot and adventure are acceptable as long as you try not to think too deeply about them.
Well, in short, I kinda enjoyed it; it's like watching a low-level D&D play session. But I felt that it kinda tried to be something more, but didn't quite succeed. It's probably a nicer read for people who aren't familiar with D&D, RPG, or fantasy in general - that might've been the original target audience.
(As a side note, there were quite a few grammatical errors in the book, so if it irks you a lot, might want to skip this)
